Conversation with
Regina Kanyu Wang | Kapsel | SO FAR

After diffrakt’s first official encounter with Kapsel got delayed by a pandemic, this September our SO FAR Reading Group will finally join forces with the crew and co-host a special public session with Regina Kanyu Wang, author, editor and researcher of, on and around Chinese SF. Starting from the collection The Way Spring Arrives, recently co-edited by Regina and Yu Chen, we will be in conversation about pasts, presents and futures of SF writing by female and nonbinary authors from China and elsewhere.

The event is organised in cooperation with Kapsel, a Berlin-based magazine dedicated to Chinese SF. Later in September, they will release their second anthology, entitled “Kollaps und Hope Porn”, containing thirteen new visions of futures. Moreover, Regina will be in conversation with Dietmar Dath at LCB on 28 September, and the book will be presented on 29 and 30 September at ACUD.

Pandemic: The event will be held in accordance with current COVID-19 regulations. The room is equipped with air filtration devices, but given the persistent viral situation, we would also like to ask you, if possible, to test yourselves with a rapid test ahead of the event.
