Gespräch mit
Caroline Adler | Oxana Timofeeva
Die Veranstaltung findet auf Englisch statt.
In How to Love a Homeland / Heimat. Eine Gebrauchsanweisung (Matthes & Seitz 2022, kayfa ta 2020), Oxana Timofeeva investigates alternative possibilities of the concept of homeland. Departing from this exercise, which combines theoretical writing and autobiographical narrative, the fifth edition of our series in theory will discuss the role of autobiography and autofiction in her work, both as a philosopher and as an artist. We will think about how spaces and geographies can inform and shape theory production. How may belonging, love, and resistance help us to rethink our present? Can we reinvent our places of (intellectual) origin through re-writing and re-visiting? What is the role of „the local“ for theory production? And can writing a book be an existential as well as a political task?
Oxana Timofeeva, born in Siberia, is a philosopher and writer from St Petersburg, and a member of the artist collective Chto Delat. Her publications include: Heimat. Eine Gebrauchsanweisung [How to Love a Homeland] (Matthes & Seitz 2022, Kayfa ta 2020), Eto ne to [This Is not That] (Limbach 2022), Solar Politics (Polity 2022), History of Animals (Bloomsbury 2018), and Introduction to the Erotic Philosophy of Georges Bataille (New Literary Observer 2009).
