A Joint Reading at Neun Kelche

Friday, 14 February 2024, 6.30 pm, Neun Kelche (Pasedagplatz 3-4, 13088 Berlin)

Public reading group session

This month, our reading group the personal is theoretical will venture out to Neun Kelche for a special session in dialogue with their current exhibition To Want the World in a Glass Hat by Bethan Hughes & Dominique Hurth, where the artists reimagine the project space as a resonance chamber both in a literal and in a metaphorical sense, exploring sound, visibility, and normativity.

Everybody is invited to join us and further engage with these subjects. (It is [as always] not necessary to have attended previous sessions of the group.) We will read excerpts from Bodies of Sound. Becoming a Feminist Ear (2024), reflecting on whose voices are heard and how space shapes listening. No preparation needed – we’ll read aloud and discuss on-site, but if you sign up you will receive the material beforehand, and we encourage you to have a look.

Join us by signing up via this link or by emailing prost@neunkelche.de to receive the texts. We’re looking forward to reading together!
