Thursday, 1 February, 11 am, diffrakt | centre for theoretical periphery
Workshop in cooperation with the
counter | infrastructures reading group
Following the screening of Unrueh/Unrest on 31 January, this workshop will offer an opportunity to further explore several of the topics addressed in and by the film. The workshop will begin with a short introduction to the concept of counter | infrastructures in order to then tie it back to the film and deepen and extend the discussions begun the night before. Among other aspects, we will hence return to issues such as the standardisation of the measurement of time and space and how this relates to people’s lived experience, organisation against organisation, aesthetic and narrative strategies and meta-strategies, the centre and the periphery.
While the workshop is open for anyone who has watched the film to drop by spontaneously, there will be some materials that may serve as a background to the discussions and that will occasionally be foregrounded. If you would like to receive these materials beforehand, please send a short note to mail@diffrakt.space.
The workshop will begin at 11 am and there will be a lunch break around 1 pm. Whether there will be a second session after lunch will be decided as we go.
The event is organised by Moritz Gansen and Hannah Wallenfels in collaboration with Michela Coletta, Freie Universität Berlin, and the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions.
