Learning from Weeds
Gespräch mit
C.C. McKee | tba
What can we learn from weeds? What role have Western scientific traditions played in constructing categories such as “invasive” or “useful” plant species? Together with the art historian C.C. McKee and others, we will discuss how colonial power relations have shaped botanical narratives and how alternative, relational perspectives on plants might open up new ways of thinking and living together. In this conversation, “weed” is understood not only as a botanical category, but also as a political and epistemic concept that touches on questions of belonging, control, and resistance.
The conversation is part of the exhibition and event series Louder, Taller, Uglier, Weirder – Learning from Weeds / Von Unkraut lernen.
